How this is read
Two tables from the प्रश्नप्रकरणम् of a printed Nepali jyotish manual. The first, चौर प्रश्नचक्रम्, sorts the 28 nakshatras into four columns; whichever column holds the Moon’s nakshatra at the moment of the loss gives the outcome, the direction and the number of days. The second, प्रश्नलग्नात् चौरज्ञानम्, reads the sign rising at that same moment, 1 to 12, and names the figure paired with it.
The column names describe the thief’s eyes, which is why they run the way they do: अन्धलोचन is “blind-eyed” and gives the best outcome — a blind thief is caught — while सुलोचन is “sharp-eyed” and gives the worst. The chakra has 28 cells rather than 27 because Abhijit, carved out of Uttara Ashadha and Shravana, has a column of its own.
The reading is cast for the moment of the loss, not the moment you ask, so the same loss always gives the same answer. Asking saves nothing — a reading is kept only when you press “Save reading”, and then only in your own account, where nobody else can see it and you can delete it whenever you like. Without an account nothing about your reading is recorded at all; the only trace is a mark in this browser remembering that the free reading has been used. The chip and the note are your own labels for the thing; the chakra never looks at them.
