Privacy Policy
What Antaryami collects, who else receives it, how it is protected, and how to get rid of it.
In short
- Your birth details are yours. We store them encrypted, use them to compute your charts, and never sell them.
- A Jyotishi sees a chart only when you start a consultation with them. Nothing is shared before that.
- Voice calls pass through Agora and are not recorded. AI answers come from Anthropic, which gets your question, the name on the chart and the computed chart — not your raw birth date, time or place.
- Antaryami AI costs less in Nepal. We take the country (two letters) from your connection and from where your last top-up was paid, only to set that price — we do not keep your IP address for it. We count your AI questions per day and record each charge; both go with your account.
- Helping train Antaryami’s own AI is your choice and off by default. If you switch it on, your AI questions and answers are kept without your name or birth details; switch it off and they are deleted.
- Relationship details — your status, what you are looking for, and dates such as a marriage or separation — are optional. We use them only to tailor that chart’s readings; a Jyotishi never sees them, they are never used to train AI, and you can delete them at any time.
- Location, camera and microphone are asked for only at the moment you use the feature that needs them, and never in the background.
- Delete your account from the account screen. It takes fourteen days, so a mistake is recoverable, and then your data is gone.
That is the gist. The full terms are below, numbered so you can point at one.
1. Scope#
1.1 What this covers
This policy covers the Antaryami website, the Antaryami app for iOS and Android, and the systems behind them. Soham Collective Pty Ltd, an Australian company, is the controller of the personal data described here.
1.2 Two kinds of person
Most of this policy is about you as a seeker. Section 9 covers the extra information we hold about a Jyotishi who offers consultations.
2. What we collect, and when#
2.1 Birth details
The name, date, time and place of birth you enter, for yourself or for anyone you cast a chart for, and the charts, dashas and interpretations computed from them. Entered by you; stored encrypted.
2.2 Account
Your email address, a password (stored only as a hash), your display name if you give one, your language and calculation preferences, and a profile photo if you upload one. If you sign in with Google or Apple we receive the email address and name they release to us, and nothing else.
2.3 Location
On a phone, your approximate or precise location — but only in the moment you tap the button that offers to fill in a birthplace, and only to turn a position into a place name and coordinates. Antaryami does not track you, and does not read your location in the background.
2.4 Camera and photos
Access to your camera or photo library only when you choose a profile picture, and only the image you pick.
2.5 Microphone and voice
During a voice consultation, your microphone audio, streamed live so the Jyotishi can hear you.
We do not record consultations. No audio is stored by us, and there is no recording feature in the product. What we keep is the number of seconds the call lasted, because that is what you were billed for.
2.6 Messages and questions
The messages you exchange with a Jyotishi and with the AI assistant, and the written questions you submit. These are retained, encrypted, so that you and the Jyotishi can both see the conversation you had.
2.7 Health and other sensitive notes
Antaryami has features — Verify Past among them — where you may write about what actually happened in your life, including your health. Whatever you write there, we hold, encrypted. We treat it as sensitive, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not need it: leaving those fields blank costs you nothing.
2.8 Payments
A record of what you topped up and what you spent — amounts, dates and what they were for. We never receive or store your card number; the payment provider holds that.
The country of the payment behind your most recent top-up — the country that issued your card (from Stripe) or of your Google Play account — as a two-letter code only. See 2.13 for why.
2.9 Device and usage
A random installation identifier, your device and app version, your IP address when you connect, and anonymous events recording which screens and features you used. These carry no name, email or birth details, and you can turn the events off in the app’s Settings.
On the website, anonymous usage counts (pages and features used, no personal details) are recorded on our own servers to improve the app. A random visitor identifier is added to them only if you accept cookies.
2.10 Notifications
A push token, if you allow notifications, so we can tell you an astrologer is calling or has answered.
2.11 What you send us
Anything you write in the contact form, and any attachment you add to it.
2.12 Relationship details
If you choose to add them to a saved chart: a relationship status (single, in a relationship, engaged, married, separated, divorced, widowed, or prefer not to say), what you are looking for (marriage, a relationship, compatibility with an existing partner, or not looking), and dated relationship events — a relationship beginning, an engagement, a marriage, a separation, a divorce, a remarriage, a partner’s passing, or the birth of a child — each with a year, month or day as precisely as you know it, and an optional note. We never ask about sexual orientation or a partner’s gender.
Why: only to tailor the readings for that chart. Antaryami AI is given a short summary of them (for example “Married 2015; separated 2021”) when you ask about that chart, and Verify Past compares marriage and children predictions with the real dates. They are stored encrypted, kept against that chart alone, never shown to a Jyotishi — not even one you share the chart with — never used for advertising, and never used to train AI.
Every field is optional and skipping them costs you nothing. You can change or delete any of them, or all of them at once, from the chart’s Relationship details; deleting the chart or your account deletes them too.
2.13 Antaryami AI usage, regional pricing and approximate location
How many Antaryami AI questions you asked each day (the count, not the question), and a record of each question that used a free allowance or was charged to your wallet — the day, whether it was free or paid, and the amount. We keep these to apply the daily free allowance and to explain every charge; they are deleted with your account.
Antaryami AI costs less in Nepal. To apply that price we work out a country, as a two-letter code, from two things: the IP address you are connecting from, looked up on our own server in a country database, and the country of the payment behind your last top-up (2.8). You get the lower price if either says Nepal. We use the country only to choose the price. We do not store your IP address for this, and we never use the location you choose in the app for it.
Separately, for our own usage statistics (2.9), we record an approximate location — country, region and city — worked out the same way from the IP address you connect from: on each anonymous usage event, and once on your account when you sign up. It tells us roughly where Antaryami is used and where people join (for example, Kathmandu or Sydney); it is never your precise location, we never use your device’s GPS for it, and we do not store your IP address.
The location databases are “IP to Country Lite” and “IP to City Lite” by DB-IP (https://db-ip.com), licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0. The lookup happens on our server: your IP address is not sent to DB-IP.
3. Why we use it#
3.1 To run the service
To compute and display your charts, remember your saved profiles, synchronise them across your devices, connect you to a Jyotishi, deliver a reading, and take and reconcile payment. Without this we cannot provide what you asked for.
3.2 To keep it working and safe
To diagnose faults, prevent abuse and fraud, enforce our terms, and keep the service secure. This includes rate-limiting by IP address.
3.3 To improve it
To understand which features help people, from anonymous usage events. You can switch these off.
To train Antaryami’s own AI — only if you choose to. With “Help train Antaryami AI” switched on, we keep your Antaryami AI questions and the answers you were given, with any 👍 or 👎 you add. We keep them without the name on the chart and without your birth date, time or place: the chart is reduced to facts such as the rashis, nakshatra, dasha lords and yogas, and emails, phone numbers, dates and times you type are removed. They are stored encrypted and used only to train and test our own model. It is off unless you turn it on.
3.4 Because we have to
To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations, and to respond to a lawful request.
3.5 Legal bases
Where the GDPR or a similar law applies to you, our bases are: performance of our contract with you (2.1–2.8), legitimate interests in security and improvement (2.9), and your consent for notifications, location, camera, microphone and website cookies — each of which you can withdraw.Pending legal review: confirm the basis for the sensitive-category data at 2.7, which may require explicit consent rather than contract. Separately and more pressing: the Privacy Act 1988 small-business exemption may not apply to us at all, because clause 2.7 collects HEALTH INFORMATION — if it does not, the Australian Privacy Principles bind us regardless of turnover and this policy needs an APP-compliant privacy statement.
4. Who else receives it#
4.1 A Jyotishi you consult
The chart you share and the messages you send, once you start a consultation and not before. They do not receive your email address, your other charts, your relationship details (2.12) or your payment details.
4.2 Agora — voice calls
Voice consultations are carried by Agora. Your audio passes through their network in real time so that it can reach the other person. Neither we nor Agora record it on our instruction.
4.3 Anthropic — the AI assistant
When you ask Antaryami AI a question, your question, the conversation so far, the name on the chart and a summary of the computed chart are sent to Anthropic to generate the answer — with a short summary of that chart’s relationship details if you added any (2.12), but never their notes. Your raw date, time and place of birth are not sent.
If you report an AI answer, we keep a copy of that answer, the reason you chose and any note you add, encrypted, so our team can review it. They stay if you delete the conversation and are deleted with your account.
4.4 Stripe and Apple — payments
Top-ups on the website and on Android are processed by Stripe; on iPhone and iPad by Apple. They receive what is needed to take the payment and tell us it succeeded.
4.5 Google and Meta — measurement
App usage events go to Google Analytics. On the website, and only if you accept cookies, Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel receive the pages you view and actions such as casting a chart — never your birth details, name or email.
4.6 Expo — notifications
Push notifications are delivered through Expo’s service, and through Apple’s and Google’s notification systems.
4.7 Resend — email
Sign-in codes and service emails are sent through our email provider.
4.8 Hosting and storage
Our servers and database are hosted with our infrastructure provider. Generated report files are stored encrypted, on our own infrastructure or with an object-storage provider.
4.9 If the business changes hands
If Antaryami is sold or reorganised, data may transfer with it. You would be told, and this policy would continue to apply until you were told otherwise.
4.10 What we never do
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with data brokers. We do not use your birth details, your messages or your notes for advertising, and we do not use them to train an AI model.
5. Where it goes#
5.1 International transfer
We are an Australian company, our servers are in the United States, and the providers named in section 4 operate internationally — so your data is processed outside Australia and outside the country you are in.Pending legal review: APP 8 cross-border disclosure obligations under the Privacy Act 1988, the transfer mechanism for EU/UK users, and whether standard contractual clauses are needed with each processor.
6. How it is protected#
6.1 Encryption
Your birth details, your bio, your messages, your written questions, your notes, and any identity document a Jyotishi sends us are encrypted before they are stored, with keys the database does not hold. The database alone is not enough to read them.
Everything travels over HTTPS. Passwords are stored only as a one-way hash.
6.2 Access
Access to production data is limited to those who need it to operate the service, and administrative actions on another person’s data are recorded in an audit log.
6.3 No system is perfect
We cannot promise absolute security. If a breach affects you and the law requires it, we will tell you and the relevant authority.
7. How long we keep it#
7.1 While you are here
For as long as your account exists, because a chart you saved in 2022 is meant to still be there. You can delete an individual chart at any time, and it goes.
7.2 After you leave
Deleting your account schedules removal fourteen days later, so an accidental tap is recoverable. After that your account, charts, history and messages are purged, together with any AI questions and answers you shared for training. A record of a payment may be kept where accounting or tax law requires it. Anonymous usage events, which are not linked to you, are not affected.
7.3 Guest sessions
A guest session and its charts live until you sign in — when we carry them into your account — or until the device forgets them.
8. Your choices and rights#
8.1 Without an account at all
You can cast charts as a guest. No email address, no sign-in.
8.2 In the product
See and edit your saved charts, and delete any of them. Turn app analytics off in Settings. Change your cookie choice on the privacy page. Revoke a chart you shared with a Jyotishi. Turn off notifications. Delete your account.
8.3 Rights you may have by law
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to a copy of your data, to correction, to deletion, to restrict or object to processing, and to complain to a data-protection authority. Ask us through the contact form and we will help; we will not charge you, and we will not make you explain why.
8.4 Withdrawing a permission
Location, camera, microphone and notification permissions are yours to revoke in your device settings at any time. The features that need them stop working; nothing else does.
8.5 Training Antaryami’s own AI
Sharing your Antaryami AI questions and answers for training is off unless you switch on “Help train Antaryami AI” — in the AI chat or in Settings. Switching it off stops sharing and deletes everything you shared, straight away. Shared examples are never sold, never shown to other users, and never given to another AI company to train its models. A conversation about a chart that has relationship details (2.12) is never shared for training at all.
9. If you are a Jyotishi#
9.1 What we additionally hold
Your application: your legal name, contact details, address, qualifications, years of practice, the identity and certificate documents you upload, your knowledge-test answers and score, your bio, your rate, your availability and your earnings record.
9.2 Who sees it
Your documents and identity details are visible only to you and to a reviewer at Antaryami, and are stored encrypted. Each time a reviewer opens one it is logged.
What a seeker sees is only your public profile: display name, bio, expertise, languages, rate, rating and photo.
9.3 Your clients’ data
You receive a client’s chart and messages to conduct the consultation. That data remains theirs and ours to protect; your obligations for it are in the Terms of Service.
10. Children#
10.1 Under 13
Antaryami is not intended for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will remove it.
Casting a chart for your own child is ordinary practice and is not the same thing: those are birth details you provide as their parent.
11. Changes and contact#
11.1 Changes
We update this policy when the product changes, and the date below tells you when we last did. Where a change is significant we will tell you in the app or by email rather than quietly editing the page.
11.2 Contact
Use the contact form on the website or in the app for any question about your data, or to ask us to delete it. It reaches a person.
Questions, or want your data removed? Contact us.
